Anibal Troilo (July 11, 1914 - May 13, 1975) was drawn to the bandoneón as a child, and at age 10, persuaded his mother to buy him one.

He immediately exhibited musical talent, and shortly after, began gaining an audience. He is often touted as the defining bandoneón player of his time, and has gobs of fans to this day.

 
 

His versions of famous tangos, as well as his own compositions, garnered great respect from peers and audiences alike, and Troilo had a talent for picking out and collaborating with musicians brought out the best of his ideas.

The legendary Astor Piazzolla, at one point, was a member of his group.

His orchestra was very popular among social dancers during the Golden Age of Tango, largely due to his personality and passion. Click the players below to hear examples of Anibal Troilo's music...
