To become a better tango dancer, we need to be patient. Our instructors often say this, right? And they are correct. But in the context of tango, what exactly does patience mean?
It's a little confusing, because when we think of patience, we often equate it to waiting. Being passive.
But when it comes to learning tango, patience is anything but passive. It's not about "waiting around" to become a better dancer. Instead, it is understanding that all progress is positive, even if it's happening slower than we like. It's about sticking with it knowing that expertise won't materialize overnight.
In the end, what tango ultimately brings into our lives is always worth the invested time.
